This is an image of an orange created using a single frequency coil in a 7 tesla MRI machine. This coil was made by hand in the Auburn MRI Research Center.
Duel Frequency MRI Coil Design
Duncan has worked in the MRI center at Auburn University to create duel frequency MRI coils for imaging both hydrogen and phosphorus as part of his capstone design project for his wireless engineering major. Working with other students he has designed and constructed single and duel frequency coils. These coils are currently undergoing certification to be used as

This is a hydrogen image of a grapefruit using a duel frequency coil

This grapefruit was imaged using a duel frequency coil, but since grapefruit do not contain a large amount of phosphorus so this was simply used to test the hydrogen imaging portion of the coil. The lower image is a phosphorus phantom imaged using both coils, showing the phosphorus contents(bright white) within the oil phantom(grey).
